**The Role**

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for helping an Agile team provide support to the business by translating business needs into business rules and system configuration.

Accountabilities include Quality Assurance, requirement gathering and analysis, requirements documentation and communication of requirements to team members, as well as production support.

The Quality Assurance aspect includes creation, review and execution of test plans, logging of defects, and resolution management with a high degree of communication with team members to ensure business requirements are satisfied.

The Business Systems Analyst is developing in their knowledge of system functionality and can support the business by troubleshooting reported issues.

This role works in conjunction with fellow Agile team members to analyze internal and external policy changes, new products, customer feedback and develops plans to address identified gaps to create and improve system performance.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**_ Consult on Applications, Components or Technology_**
- **_ _**Keep current with system changes and implementations conducted by other agile teams on core Single Family systems that may have downstream impact on specific system and/or database
- Communicate potential risks

**_
Build and Maintain Relationships_**
- **_ _**Facilitate communication between business units and IT Technical resources
- Develop and maintain effective and professional working relationships with all levels of staff within the organization
- Participate in the BA Guild
- Represent and advocate for the business unit on agile and cross functional projects, ensuring source system data quality
- Prepare and participate in demos or prepares documentation as applicable

Be an Agile Team Member_**
- **_ _**Collaborate with fellow Agile team members (business & technical resources) to produce deliverables for stakeholders
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (i.e., stand-up & backlog grooming meetings, planning & whiteboarding sessions etc.) with fellow team members to determine how and when to meet business & technical requirements
- Complete development and user acceptance testing (UAT) of deliverables to meet business & technical requirements
- Host and/or contribute to demonstration sessions for business & technical stakeholders on deliverables
- Assist technical team members in expanding their business knowledge
- Embrace cross-training opportunities with technical team members to enhance technical skills
- Model transparent communication with stakeholders and fellow team members

System Management_**
- **_ _**Consult with IT partners on various issues to understand the possible solutions
- Review possible solutions to resolve identified problems
- Update systems with approved solutions from the business rules
- Understand how to read and maintain the business rules
- Corroborate/validate system solutions, test strategy and results
- Provide insight into system changes required by business policy and practice changes
- Update and submit simple logic changes for review
- Execute existing queries and macros

Capture Requirements & Perform Analysis_**
- **_ _**Triage and act upon ServiceNow tickets from users to assist in the timely resolution of production issues
- Elicit business needs from stakeholders, translates business requirements into system requirements & specifications, and document in user stories for agile projects and system maintenance
- Analyze other business unit requirements and design documents and user stories to gain an understanding of the business, project, or initiative
- Participate in the risk assessment process to help identify potential areas of risk to the project and recommends risk mitigation strategies
- Participate in the Requirements Review to ensure that leadership has the information required to approve requirements documentation, and move into development
- Contribute to the content of user stories on agile projects and initiatives where they relate to the specific system requirements
- Identify and estimates the cost of business analysis tasks for products/initiatives and ensures timely delivery of assigned tasks
- Consult with and compile requirements with internal & external business experts and IT resources
