About the Role Commodity Manager, Electrical – Supply Chain team in Montreal. What You’ll Be Contributing Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: develop and implement commodity strategies for electrical components (e.g., MV & LV cables, Transformers, switchgear); identify cost‑saving opportunities through supplier consolidation, alternative sourcing, and value engineering. Supplier Management: establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers; monitor supplier capacity, lead times, and risk factors; implement mitigation plans as needed; drive continuous improvements in quality, cost, and lead‑time. Contract Negotiation: negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve optimal cost and risk balance; ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Market Analysis & Risk Management: track market trends, raw material pricing, and technology developments impacting electrical components; develop risk management strategies for supply disruptions and cost volatility. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: work closely with proposal, engineering, and project management teams to align sourcing strategies with technical requirements; coordinate with logistics and site management to optimize inbound material flow and minimize supply chain disruptions; engage with sustainability teams to incorporate environmentally responsible sourcing practices into commodity strategies. What Sets You Apart Strong technical background (bachelor’s in electrical engineering preferred). Minimum 7 years of experience in commodity management or strategic sourcing in electrical components. Strong negotiation and analytical skills. Strategic thinking and problem‑solving. Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
