The Opportunity This is a chance to work with a financially strong organization (think top-tier AM Best and S&P ratings) with over 100 years in the business. They operate worldwide with a solid reputation in commercial and specialty insurance. What makes this role interesting? You'll have real autonomy to underwrite and grow your own book while working within sensible guidelines. They're looking for someone who can think entrepreneurially, build broker relationships, and help shape their Mid-Market strategy in Western Canada. What You'll Be Doing Underwriting new and renewal P&C business with a focus on profitability Building and maintaining broker relationships across the Edmonton market Getting out there - industry events, broker meetings, presentations Working collaboratively with management and sales teams on market development Hitting new business targets while maintaining book quality Although remote, you MUST reside in the Greater Edmonton area to best accommodate your client base. What They’re Looking For 7+ years of P&C underwriting experience Strong technical knowledge of property and casualty wordings Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset Solid negotiation and analytical skills Someone who enjoys being client-focused and building relationships Occasional travel to key markets (not excessive, but expected) This is a genuine growth opportunity with a stable, global carrier that values their people and invests in long-term success.
