About Us

We are a well-established and growing property management company based in Edmonton, managing a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and condominium properties. We pride ourselves on delivering accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and responsive service to our clients and property owners.

We are currently seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is ideal for an experienced property accounting professional who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple portfolios in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of residential, commercial, and/or condominium properties
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
  • Review and reconcile bank accounts, general ledgers, and balance sheets
  • Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and owner billings
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies
  • Coordinate year-end audits and respond to auditor inquiries
  • Review reserve fund tracking and capital expenditure reporting (where applicable)
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff
  • Work closely with property managers to support operational and financial decision-making
  • Payroll & Benefits Administration
  • Oversee full-cycle payroll processing, ensuring compliance with provincial regulations and company policies.
  • Manage source deductions, ROEs, T4s, and year-end payroll reconciliations.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, enrollments, and updates in coordination with HR.
  • Maintain payroll records and support audits as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of property accounting experience (commercial, residential, and/or condominium)
  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of property management accounting practices
  • Proficiency with property management accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, Condo Manager, or similar)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,411.02-$80,435.27 per year
