Editor-in-Chief for Heat Treatment and Surface Engineering Journal

About the Journal:

Salary Monetary Stipend is an Open Access and international peer-reviewed academic journal that aims to foster scientific understanding and technological development in the areas of heat treatment and surface engineering of metals and other materials.

We are looking for a new Editor with an academic background in the field and a passion to work with the Executive Editor, Dr. Ning Yu, and the editorial board to drive the journal forward in an exciting period of change. The successful candidate will be responsible for editorial oversight and decision-making on submissions. They will have the authority to accept articles following successful peer review and ensure adherence to the Journal’s Code of Publishing Ethics.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Be the Ambassador for the Journal; build, nurture, and grow a community around it.
  2. Increase awareness of published articles in relevant communities and among colleagues.
  3. Identify strategies to enhance the quality, reputation, citation levels, and readership of the Journal.
  4. Expand the Editorial Board and reviewer pool to advance the Journal’s quality, profile, and impact.
  5. Encourage submission of articles from expert researchers in the field.
  6. Generate ideas for Special Issues and reviews.
  7. Ensure published content reflects the highest academic and scientific standards.
  8. Handle peer review via the Editorial Manager online submission system.
  9. Convene annual editorial board conference calls to review Journal performance and discuss strategy.
  10. Liaise with Taylor & Francis and Board members regarding future strategy and direction of the Journal.
Person Specification:

While not every candidate will hold all qualifications, we value:

  • Demonstrated scholarship in heat treatment and surface engineering.
  • Industry awareness and involvement.
  • Previous editorial experience.
  • Active engagement with authors and researchers.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Enthusiasm about the Journal’s mission.
