Service Line: Urban Transport and Urban DevelopmentJob Family: Design and EngineeringProfession: Signalling and Control systems - Telecom and Low Voltage equipmentsCompensation: CAD 110,000 - CAD 150,000 - yearlyOverviewDesign and engineer communications systems for a major urban LRT project, including passenger information, radio systems, CCTV, public address, and data networks. Ensure reliable, integrated communications infrastructure supporting operations, maintenance, and passenger safety.ResponsibilitiesDesign LRT communications systems including Data Communications System (DCS), radio systems, CCTV, Public Address/Variable Message Signs (PA/VMS), and telephonyDevelop communications network architecture including fiber optic backbone, Ethernet switches, and wireless access pointsPrepare communications equipment room layouts, rack elevations, and cable routing plansDesign radio coverage solutions including antenna placement, coverage analysis, and interference mitigationDevelop CCTV system designs including camera placement, field of view analysis, and video management system specificationsPrepare PA/VMS designs for stations and stops, coordinating with architectural and electrical disciplinesSpecify communications equipment and prepare procurement documentationCoordinate communications interfaces with SCADA, signaling, fare collection, and Operations Control Centre (OCC) systemsSupport Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing for communications equipmentDevelop communications system documentation including installation drawings, test procedures, and O&M manualsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or Computer EngineeringExperience with transit communications systems including radio, CCTV, PA/VMS, and data networksKnowledge of IP networking, fiber optic systems, and wireless communicationsFamiliarity with TETRA, P25, or LTE radio systems for transit applicationsUnderstanding of video surveillance systems and video management softwareExperience with communications design software and CAD toolsAdditional InformationEgis Canada is an equal opportunities employer offering a competitive salary and benefits to those with the skills suited to the needs of our clients.We welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities.
