Job Opening: Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

Fuel Transport is expanding rapidly and looking for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) for our office located in LaSalle. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will partner with business unit leaders to execute on HR strategies focused on talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement. In addition, the Human Resources Business Partner will participate and own projects that require partnering with the broader HR team to deliver on companywide programs and services.

The successful candidate understands business priorities and interprets and anticipates industry trends and translates them in high impact HR interventions and programs. The HRBP will collaborate with clients business leaders to assess performance, retention, and enhance the overall employee experience by providing insightful data-driven recommendations.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage all aspects of human resource functions for client groups, including compensation, benefits, performance management, employee relations, organizational design, and organizational development.
  2. Collaborate, influence, and provide direct guidance to business leaders and their teams on all aspects of workforce management and change.
  3. Reinforce company culture by taking a proactive approach to supporting and promoting the company values and culture.
  4. Partners with managers to identify solutions while fostering a secure environment for employees to bring forward concerns and facilitating effective resolution processes.
  5. Effectively communicate policies to both managers and employees, ensuring consistent and efficient application, while also offering valuable support and coaching.
  6. Lead or participate in the development and implementation of HR projects including HRIS upgrades, new policies, performance management, talent management, annual compensation reviews, and talent acquisition efforts.
  7. Communicate key people messages, programs, and initiatives to Canadian and US offices.
  8. Ensure compliance of company HR policies and labor standards within the business unit.
  9. Perform various administrative duties related to human resources.
  10. Work collaboratively with the payroll department ensuring the timely and accurate flow of HR information for payroll processing.
  11. Take a proactive approach to legislative matters and advise management teams on labor laws changes.
  12. Provide coaching, advice, and guidance to Supervisors and Managers on employee relations matters.
  13. Lead investigations pertaining to employee relations, ethics, and compliance.
  14. Engage/influence stakeholders to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  15. Additional duties as required.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, CRHA required. 3-5 years of HRBP or HR generalist experience. Payroll experience. USA HR exposure an asset. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, problem-solving skills, ability to handle sensitive issues, team spirit, and bilingual proficiency.
