Minimum Qualifications Class DZ license and clean driver's abstract/CVOR Road maintenance experience and knowledge of OTM book 7 Mechanically inclined to operate small tools and heavy equipment Willingness to remain on call and work assigned day, night and weekend shifts Preferred Qualifications Ability to lift 50lbs Basic computer skills Day in the Life As an ERU Crash Truck Operator, you will begin to know the highway like the back of your hand as you respond to calls dispatched from the MTO with urgency and other emergency situations such as spills, accidents, inclement weather, and assist in implementing an emergency plan as needed, completing incident reports, and liaising with the supervisor and MTO as needed. You will also respond to incidents and work with the OPP, Toronto Fire, and EMS, ensuring the safety of the travelling public, providing traffic control at the accident scene, setting up and taking down traffic signs. When you are not responding to incidents, you will operate a variety of equipment, including tractors, mowers, loaders, service trucks, and graders. You will make minor repairs to the highway, conduct daily circle checks, maintain equipment, and maintain accurate documentation of incident reports, timesheets, fuel records, and hours of service. You will be an essential member of the maintenance team and first point of contact in some situations. If you have a safety focused mindset and love to be on the road, this is the ideal role for you.
