Why Join Our Team Exhilarating and fun‑loving culture Flexible work environment Be part of the growth of one of Vancouver’s most iconic institutions Join a diverse, passionate and enthusiastic team What You’ll Do This Year Install, replace and upgrade new coaster track and related carpentry needs at all rides and attraction locations Perform daily walking inspections of wooden coasters and maintain required service records and logs Make recommendations for improvements, modifications, upgrades and report findings to the foreperson in a timely manner Assist with major overhauls, modifications and alterations as required Ensure the safe operation of each work area and each work project Assist with general cleaning, inspection and equipment maintenance as needed Assist with daily preventative maintenance program Maintain a safe and clean working environment Perform other related duties as assigned What Else Must have successful completion of Grade 12 Successful completion of post‑secondary training to a Trades Qualification (TQ) and/or equivalent industry experience Carpentry license is an asset Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license (must provide driver’s abstract) Must obtain NARSO / AIMS license after completing the required hours Diverse background troubleshooting repairs and working with scheduled upgrades and refurbishments Past experience in a diverse construction environment (working outdoors and with heights) with mechanical experience an asset Strong written and oral communication skills Exposure to working from blueprints is a must Ability to work different shifts, weekends and holidays as required Proven problem‑solving, troubleshooting and meeting deadlines Ownership of tools and safety boots is a must Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions Required to meet the physical demands of the job including weights of up to 23 kg, heights of 70 m, frequent standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending, crawling and ability to work with ladders Successful candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check Who Are You Strong communicator Takes initiative Team player Enjoys a fun and diverse environment within hospitality industry Where and When to Apply Applications can be submitted via the PNE website at www.pne.ca/jobs and will be accepted until the role is filled.
