THE CLIENT STRIVE Recruitment is proud to be partnering with one of Canada’s most reputable real estate firms to find a talented Property Accounting Manager for their downtown Vancouver office. The Property Accounting Manager will be joining a forward-thinking organization known for its strong leadership team, collaborative culture, and commitment to professional development. THE ROLE The client is looking for an experienced Property Accounting Manager who thrives in a leadership role that involves coaching and mentoring others in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As the Property Accounting Manager, you’ll oversee a portfolio of commercial properties, lead month-end and year-end processes, and play a key role in enhancing systems, controls, and reporting standards. You’ll guide a team of skilled property accountants while supporting continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to the firm’s growth and operational excellence. RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the full cycle accounting process for a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate assets. Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings with precision and timeliness. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of property accountants, fostering collaboration and accountability. Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting procedures and implement best practices. Participate in special projects and system enhancements to drive efficiency and improve reporting accuracy. Provide strategic insights to senior leadership through financial analysis and reporting. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Progressive experience in accounting or finance within property management, managing commercial properties. Proven experience of being in a leadership role, managing multiple direct reports. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline – CPA would be an asset. Strong technical expertise in Excel and familiarity with property management systems. Excellent communication skills and a hands‑on leadership style that inspires performance and accountability.
