The Intermediate Accountant assists the manager and AVP periodically for ad hoc reports.Success of this position ensures 1) the compliance with sales tax regulation 2) the accurate journal entry with proper audit support prepared in the efficient manner to meet the financial periodic closeKey ResponsibilitiesTeam lead ( Supervise) daily AP activities, including managing disbursement transaction, processing company’s T&E( Concur) Daily batch, coding invoicesSupport AP Clerk, including vendor problem resolution and daily AP operationPost the wire clearingBe the point of contact for sales tax related matters, including monthly filing, liaise with 3rd party sales tax consultant, organize annual sales tax reviewBroker billingPrepare various monthly GL reconciliations.Assist in preparing monthly system internal control test sample documents.Prepare monthly journal entries and upload.Assist accounting manager and AVP for ad hoc reportingQualificationsProven experience in full-cycle accounting (2+ years work experience) and Accounts Payable departmentExperience with sales tax return filing.Strong working experience in Accounts PayableStrong working knowledge of SAP.Intermediate to advanced skill in excel (knowledge in Power query is a plus).Strong written and verbal communication.Must be detail-oriented.Analytical thinker with an inquisitive mind.Excellent problem-solving skills.Self-starter and team player.Willingness to learn new things.Must have common business senseMust have excellent time management and prioritization skills to prioritize the tasks to meet various reporting deadlines.Must be flexible and adaptable.Work ConditionsExtended periods of sitting.Hybrid working environment.Overtime may be required to meet reporting deadlines and month-end requirements.Accessibility and Diversity StatementSharp Electronics of Canada Ltd. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
