Industrial Electrical Technician Afternoon Company: Agropur – Don Mills Job Type: Regular (full‑time) Shift: 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm (Afternoon) What We Offer Competitive salary of $47.59 per hour plus afternoon premium. Annual vacation: 2 weeks for years 1–4, increasing to 3 weeks. Four float days per year. Registered pension savings plan (RSP) with 4.25 % employer match. Tool allowance of $455 per year. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, VFDs, electrical instrumentation and sensors, lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires and cables. Repairs and replace electric and electronic components such as motors, contactors, relays, switches or sensors, PLCs, light curtains, motor controls, VFDs, etc. Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production and supporting equipment as outlined in the work instructions. Troubleshoot PLCs and VFDs on packaging and processing machinery. Test for malfunctions, verify repairs and document all programming changes. Perform all job functions safely, following health, safety and environmental rules and using personal protective equipment. Stay current with new technology, including use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Collaborate with operators and other trades to achieve satisfactory results. Support development of autonomous, preventive, and predictive maintenance programs. Qualifications Current Province of Ontario Industrial Electrician 442A License. Minimum three years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (food, beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical industry preferred). Experience troubleshooting Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs and FactoryTalk View HMI/SCADA systems. Thorough knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code. Experience with industrial electrical power systems, control systems, PLCs, motors, VFDs, and industrial communication systems. Ability to create simple drawings, ladder diagrams and single‑circuit diagrams. Additional Requirements Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel; MP2 database system an asset). Dairy processing experience an asset. Work independently or in a team with minimal supervision. Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Familiarity with WHMIS, GMPs and good health and safety practices. Positive “can‑do” attitude and customer focus. Agropur welcomes people from all backgrounds and origins.
