Civil Resident Engineer – Water

As a Civil Resident Engineer – Water, you will provide supervision and management on a programme of work to deliver new and upgrade water network improvements in the Connacht region including Galway, Mayo, Sligo, and Roscommon. This Global Engineering Consultancy firm has a requirement for a Resident Engineer to work on water projects in the region due to ongoing contract awards. You should be able to demonstrate previous experience in either the design or construction of watermain upgrades, rehabilitation techniques, and leakage repair.

Responsibilities:
  1. Work alongside Regional Contractors to ensure projects are delivered in compliance with the Contract and legislation.
  2. Liaise with Local Authorities in delivering projects.
  3. Carry out HSQE audits and manage HSQE issues.
  4. Process work orders.
  5. Service Request Approval.
  6. Update trackers.
  7. Review and approval of as-laid drawings.
  8. Work with IW Design Engineers to help provide clarity to deliver the project.
  9. Deal with complaints.
  10. Provide feedback to Regional Leads and IW.
  11. Attend and manage meetings with Regional Contractors and IW.
  12. Keep records.
  13. Create a list of snags and sign off when complete.
  14. Visit the site before works commence to envisage any potential problems and provide feedback findings to IW Design Engineers.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • At least 5 years’ satisfactory postgraduate experience in on-site supervision and site engineering of civil engineering works, including water projects.
  • A Degree in a related discipline such as Civil Engineering.
  • Capability to write clear and concise reports and keep works records.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Health and Safety procedures and regulations.
  • A current and valid SafePass card is essential; Confined Spaces training would be desirable.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work in a team.
