Your opportunity We are currently seeking candidates for the position of GIS Project Manager. You will be a member of Dillon's GIS Discipline within the Data Integration Services Practice. You will be a key part of our multidisciplinary group serving our public sector (federal, provincial, and municipal), private and Indigenous clients. At Dillon, we operate as one team. Responsibilities Project Leadership & Delivery: Provide the necessary leadership to plan, manage, implement, and deliver complex GIS and data analytics solutions to meet the needs of various lines of business. Lead multiple high‑priority, complex, long‑term projects through all specific phases in alignment with business strategies. Client Relationship Management: Engage clients and appropriate stakeholders to identify required outcomes, define deliverables, build consensus, and manage expectations. Establish and maintain a consultative relationship with internal and external clients. Team Coordination: Manage assigned projects to ensure effective cross‑divisional teamwork and communication. Supervise project staff and provide direction and coaching to foster a positive, supportive, and open culture. Scope & Financial Management: Manage project scope, schedule, and budget using tools that are part of the Microsoft and Google platforms. Accountable for the successful delivery of assigned projects to deliver results and benefits. Risk & Process Management: Identify, evaluate, and document risks, issues, constraints, and dependencies. Implement effective change request processes and document current state and future process workflows. Proposal Development & Execution: Author and lead the submission of proposal documents for GIS and Data Analytics projects. Review technical content and coordinate with authors to support successful submissions. Learning and Development Commitment to self‑development and ongoing learning and professional development. Contribute to Dillon's corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees. Take initiative to participate in a culture of learning, mentoring, and sharing. Qualifications A degree in GIS, Data Analytics, Geography, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Consulting Environment. A minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience specifically in GIS & Data Analytics. Experience Demonstrated project management expertise through planning and managing projects of increasing size and complexity, from initiation through to evaluation. Experience engaging with clients and relevant stakeholders on multidisciplinary projects, providing GIS expertise with a demonstrated ability to establish, develop and maintain client relationships. Experience in proposal development and securing new project opportunities. Demonstrated experience in the management of project scope, schedule, and budgets as a project manager. Delivery of innovative GIS solutions that enhance client productivity. Experience conducting feasibility studies and needs assessments to determine the appropriate GIS solutions and data models. Understanding of the design of custom data collection tools and models with automated reports. Understanding of data compilation, relational database design, and extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes. Understanding of spatial analysis, spatial statistics, remote sensing, and working knowledge of Esri analysis tools (Network Analyst, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst). Understanding of the development of mobile applications (Survey123, Collector, Field Maps) and ArcGIS Online web applications would be considered an asset. Experience with ArcGIS Online and Portal environments, administration and implementation. Experience with GIS architecture definition (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise, cloud environments) and a collaborative working relationship with IT to facilitate successful system deployment and maintenance is considered an asset. Strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and written communication, and organizational skills. Working knowledge of the following programs and programming languages would be considered an asset: AutoCAD, Pix4D, CityEngine, Power BI, Python, ArcPy, JavaScript, and Arcade.
