This includes preparing sterile and non-sterile extemporaneous products, entering drug orders into the computer, packaging products, purchasing drugs, customer relations, processing prescriptions, billing and reconciliation, narcotic inventory control, drug studies and liaising with nursing staff on the patient care units. The Pharmacy Technician checks prescription in compliance with regulations for Registered Pharmacy Technicians.Rate of pay: $31.79 per hour - $34.55 per hour (based on different collective agreements)*All shifts and placements are subject to change and reassignment in accordance with the collective agreement.Temporary Full-TimeHours of work: 37.5 hours per weekDuration: up to 12 monthsRegular Part-TimeHours of work: 22.5 hours per weekPlease note that full-time availability is required for the first 4 to 6 weeks for training and orientation.As the ideal candidate, you have:Successful completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Diploma ProgramRegistration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of PharmacistsOne (1) year recent hospital pharmacy experience (including unit dose and IV admixture) and/or community pharmacy experience preferredRecent experience with Pharmacy Information Systems, Cerner and/or Kroll system preferredKnowledge and recent experience of drug insurance plans (including Trillium and other Ministry of Health programs, inventory management and billing/reconciliation functions) preferredDemonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and initiative to work independentlyDemonstrated excellent communication and customer service skillsDemonstrated ability to interact effectively with patients and other health care professionals as an effective team memberDemonstrated advanced accuracy and attention to detail are essential, particularly in regard to computer order entry, mathematical calculations, IV admixture, compounding and prescription fillingDemonstrated ability to remain resilient and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered careDemonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and valuesDemonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSCDemonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basisHas your experience been obtained through alternative pathways?
