BASIC FUNCTION The sourcing specialist for raw material is responsible for the procurement of the related categories of expenditure by working closely with global / regional procurement colleagues to develop and execute both the short- and long-term procurement strategy. This position will coordinate with global procurement colleagues for the global synergy project and bring value to the region. This position requires to develop the low-cost countries source and accountable for the cost saving KPI of the related categories. This position needs to maintain regular communication with suppliers and update the latest market movement to the team to ensure we always stay up to the market and making the wisely business decision respond to market changes. This position also requires working closely with the PAD team for developing the new material for cost saving and alternatives grade to single source for risk management. This position requires interaction with various functional groups throughout the APAC region including the O&P, I&D and APS Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain and Manufacturing. This interaction will provide excellent exposure to various levels with multiple departments within the company. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Lead for the category strategy development with 7SSS and execution by working with business stakeholders and global / regional procurement colleagues. To gain a deep understanding of the business requirements, value chain, total costs, risks and opportunities in order to be able to challenge and deliver value improvements. Bring knowledge of suppliers and supply market expertise to the business, including identification and development of innovations. Plan and execute the procurement activity by using 6 pillars principal and bring max value to company. Challenge sourcing activities, processes, and existing practices to identify and implement value engineering and/ or operational excellence, process improvement as well as new sourcing opportunities. Manage tender/ negotiation and work out the formal contract where its categories required or allowed. Accountable for cost savings and value creation in line with annual targets. Take responsibility for supplier management, implementing supplier business reviews and other means of driving supplier performance in sustainable, systematic ways. Join supplier’s site audit with PAD/ Quality team. Ensure suppliers have the capacity, financial stability, quality & technical capabilities to meet business requirements and establish supplier development / risk mitigation plans as appropriate. Work with business stakeholders for the development and deployment of appropriate supplier performance targets and KPIs. Comply with company procedures & policies. Take initiative and be willing to lead or support improvement projects in the function and business. PERSON SPECIFICATION Education: 1. University degree or diploma Work Experience: 1. At least 2-3 years of experience in the petrochemical/ plastics compounding/ chemistry industry 2. Possess knowledge in additives, plastics ,colors & pigment knowledge is prefer. 3. Combined experience in commercial Critical Competencies/Behaviors Drive for Results Knowledge Management Evaluation and Analysis Communication and Facilitation Challenge ideas in positive way Teamwork Influencing People Flexibility Time Management & self-discipline Skills Able to demonstrate procurement knowledge and skills – from procure to pay processes through to strategic sourcing through to contract and supplier management. Strong negotiation skills. Possess relevant category knowledge. Ability to use data and apply analytics. Possess an understanding of the chemical industry and the drivers of its performance Advanced PC skills, including Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and knowledge of SAP, Procurement ERP systems eg: ARIBA. Project management skill.
