Your innovative and solutions-focused approach to sourcing ensures that each product you work on meets Arcteryx design and merchandising intent, cost and margin targets, supply chain requirements, and contributes to our ability to scale in a skilled capable manufacturing base.This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.Meet your future team:The Sourcing Team are passionate about product, cost, and details. We partner closely with our vendors to ensure products meet cost and quality expectations, while supporting our sourcing strategies. We own the product costing process from pre-cost to production. We work with our vendor base and Sourcing Team to understand cost drivers and apply our learnings to inform our product creation process. You will also partner internally with Design, Product, Quality, Compliance, Supply Chain, Sustainability to identify and fulfill the sourcing needs of your category and deliver all product developed and commercialized by our vendors.If you were the Sourcing Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:Owning product cost estimates and vendor cost negotiations to meet and/or exceed target FOB/margins for new productContributing to the development process through providing insight into cost drivers and trade opportunities Collecting and maintaining sourcing and vendor information databases and tools Partnering directly with global vendors, as well as Arc’teryx own factory, to accurately communicate model requirements, buy ready and production ready specifications, approved reference samples and patterns to meet Arc’teryx established fit, quality and construction standardsSupporting Sourcing, Product Development, and Quality in the training of factory resources and ensure that Arc’teryx brand standards are met Contributing to the development process by ensuring successful integration of new initiatives into the I2C (Innovation to Consumer) calendar Collecting and maintaining data related to vendor performance to drive informed decision-making and process improvements. Generating regular reports and presentations to share sourcing insights with cross functional teams and senior management. Staying informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations in the apparel sector Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain.By working closely with the Amer Sports Global Sourcing Vendor Sustainability team on quarterly business reviews and training/capacity building (at least annually).By adhering to negotiated lead times and balanced annual capacities to expedite responsible purchasing practices as outlined in the Responsible Sourcing Policy.Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:Contributing to process improvement with cross functional partnersReporting on team metricsSupporting the execution of the vendor strategyAre you our next Sourcing Specialist?You have 5+ years’ experience in sourcing, or product development with a focus on technical, innovative apparel and equipmentYou have an Undergraduate Degree OR equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experienceYou have experience effectively communicating with, and travelling to domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturersYou have experience in product costing and negotiation skillsYou have a comprehensive understanding of design intent, product aesthetics, construction, production and fitYou have a complete understanding of the product lifecycle process - from ideation to consumerYou have a strong knowledge of raw materials, technical construction, and sourcingYou are detailed and accuracy oriented with strong organizational skillsYou demonstrate initiative, agility and commitmentYou are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutionsYou are goal driven with a results-oriented attitudeYou effectively balance autonomy and collaborationYou remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguityYou inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvementYour passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living itYou thrive in a fast paced, diverse, ever evolving and values led environmentYou have excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skillsYou seek to execute the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do right$82,000 - $112,000 a yearA reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$82,000 - CAD$112,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
