Assistant Professor, Mathematics Mount Royal University invites applications for a tenure‑track position in the Department of Mathematics and Computing at the Faculty of Science and Technology. The appointment will commence July 1, 2026, subject to final budgetary approval, at the rank of Assistant Professor. About The Role The successful candidate will demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching and the ability to develop and maintain an active research program. The primary focus will be on teaching mathematics courses in support of the Data Science major, and the candidate is encouraged to teach Graph Theory, Optimization, or Stochastic Processes. Additional teaching of mathematics courses for other majors within the Bachelor of Science may also be required. Qualifications PhD in mathematics or a closely related field. Ability to develop a productively scholarly research program and involve undergraduate students in research. Experience or potential for securing external funding. Research expertise in any area of mathematics, with particular encouragement for work aligned with the teaching expectations. Demonstrated awareness of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and commitment to an inclusive environment. Preferred: teaching experience in Graph Theory, Optimization, or Stochastic Processes. Work Pattern The successful candidate will be hired into the Teaching/Scholarship/Service (TSS) pattern, with an option to change patterns after tenure.
