Senior Commercial Financial Analyst Company: Septodont, a leading manufacturer of dental pharmaceuticals and medical devices, headquartered in France with operations in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. The Cambridge, Ontario site houses Novocol Pharma, focusing on contract development and manufacturing for sterile injectable cartridges and combination products. Job Summary The Senior Commercial Financial Analyst reports to the Commercial Finance Manager for North America and leads revenue and P&L budgeting, forecasting, and planning for the Pharma and Dental markets. The role drives budgeting and planning processes, implements necessary systems, and provides financial analysis to support strategic initiatives. Responsibilities Accountable for financial reports and analysis for the Pharma and Dental operations, including trend analysis, financial statements, departmental reporting, forecasting, and other performance reports. Ensure appropriate revenue recognition methodology on a monthly basis in accordance with IFRS. Oversee financial oversight of customer contracts, credit analysis, and the credit insurance program within Pharma. Partner with functional departments to develop and monitor performance metrics aligned with company objectives. Collaborate with Accounting Group on financial transactions, capital spending, and budgeting processes across multiple currencies and locations. Check, reconcile, and analyze financial information; post journal entries; support timely preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting. Validate financial statements in BI and CPM for the region. Complete annual corporate working paper reconciliations for external auditors. Prepare and analyze reports from large volumes of financial data for cost analysis, profit determination, and business development; present findings to management. Conduct financial and economic analysis projects, including research, statistical modeling, policy updates, and compliance memos. Assist executives, directors, and department managers with financial analysis to support business decisions. Act as a Financial Business Partner, providing leadership, coaching, and technical advice for continuous improvement and compliance. Qualifications Education University degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Preferred: recognized Accounting designation. Experience Minimum 5 years of significant accounting/finance experience, including senior management interaction. Strong organizational and project coordination skills with ability to meet timelines. Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills. High priority on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. Excellent attention to detail. Effective interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff, management, external resources, and auditors. Advanced MS Office Suite skills, especially Excel. Experience with ERP systems (SAP or Microsoft AX). Business ERP Systems knowledge an asset. Understanding of A/R, A/P, Inventory, and Product Costing processes and related reporting. Experience with project reporting, including percentage‑of‑completion accounting, an asset. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to work in a demanding, multi‑tasking environment.
