OverviewSenior Civil Engineer - Conveyance at GHD. This role offers the opportunity to be challenged in career development within a growing, employee-owned company, in a professional environment that is quality-driven and client-focused.The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria with sound professional judgment. The ideal candidate will have a track record of design delivery for multi-disciplinary projects, specifically complex civil and facility projects.ResponsibilitiesEngineering design for civil systems with a focus on linear infrastructure, including coordination with Business Lead, Managers, and Project Directors.Coordinate all aspects of civil design and be responsible for the design itself.Develop or verify the technical scope of a project.Complete civil designs following budget and schedule.Participate in design coordination meetings and address critical issues.Collaborate with the engineering group to facilitate decision making related to civil design.Ensure client requirements, specifications, and standards are integrated into the project.Apply quality control processes and ensure adherence to defined standards.Mentor and develop junior staff.Represent GHD at client meetings when required.What you will bring to the teamBachelor’s (B.Sc.) degree in civil engineering from a recognized college or university.A Professional Engineering (P.Eng) license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is required.Minimum of 10 years of extensive technical design experience.Demonstrable experience in civil design delivery for larger, multi-discipline projects with a focus on linear infrastructure.Experience working in a Design-Build environment.Detailed understanding of local agency (or equivalent) codes and standards.Experience working in an integrated 3D environment.Team-building and mentoring skills.As a diverse and inclusive organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
