Job Description AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Senior Civil Design Engineer for a full‑time position based from any Greater Toronto Area office (Markham or Mississauga). The candidate will lead municipal drinking water and wastewater conveyance projects from planning and feasibility to design and construction. Responsibilities Lead a high‑performing design team in the delivery of complex multidisciplinary water and wastewater conveyance projects. Apply technical knowledge of water and wastewater conveyance infrastructure in a municipal environment. Work successfully within a team environment and communicate effectively with other project team members and clients. Build strong relationships and trust with stakeholders. Collaborate closely with the project manager and other discipline engineers to lead design delivery. Complete designs within local standards, making informed decisions when standards conflict and documenting those decisions. Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design decisions. Draft technical specifications, tender documents, and review design drawings. Conduct technical quality reviews of deliverables. Perform periodic site visits during design and construction. Ensure continuity through complete project lifecycle, from design to construction. Provide guidance to technical staff. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. 10+ years of related experience as a Design Lead in municipal water and wastewater conveyance projects or demonstrable equivalence. Preferred Qualifications 15+ years of related experience specifically in design and construction of municipal water and wastewater projects. Registered as a P.Eng. in the province of ON. Experience overseeing and coordinating all technical aspects of capital works projects over $30 million CAD. Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams. Technical and/or project management experience on conveyance projects in the Greater Toronto Area. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Additional Information Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position. Compensation Offered rate based on education, qualifications, experience, and location. Salary range: $125,000 to $170,000 CAD per year. Work Model Hybrid. Locations: Markham or Mississauga, Greater Toronto Area.
