JLP Services Inc. is currently seeking an Junior Geotechnical Coordinator. JLP currently provides a range of Geotechnical Services, including but not limited to: Investigation, Materials Testing and Inspection, Instrumentation and Monitoring, Shoring Excavation and Monitoring and Foundation Recommendations.Please note that position requires a minimum of 2 to 4 years of local southwestern Ontario experience. Local applicant only. Not an LMIA position.Role Responsibilities:Conducting field investigations, including borehole layout, utility clearances, supervision of drill rigs and/or excavators, logging boreholes and test pits, and surveyingPerforming construction site reconnaissance, observations, and inspections (e.g., footing inspections, subgrade inspection, retaining wall inspection)Reviewing soil and rock samples in our laboratory, coordinating geotechnical laboratory testing, and compiling test results and borehole logsAnalyzing and modeling slope stability, settlement, foundation design, soil retaining structures, and other geotechnical challengesPreparation of Geotechnical Investigation Reports, Technical Memos, Scope of WorkClient Communication and business developmentTraining and mentorship of junior employees.Qualifications:CCIL CertificationsSkills:Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and critical thinking skillsExcellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing abilityAn understanding of materials testing and inspection, road reconstruction, rebar inspection and general construction practicesProficiency in AutoCad, gINT, Slide, AqteSolv MS Office and AutoCAD (preferred)Education and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical (Civil or Geological) EngineeringMaster’s Degree- assetWhat we have to offer:Opportunity to work on projects varying in sizes and complexityCompetitive salary and employee share/ownership programLearning and development programs, training, and career buildingHealth BenefitsOur solution-based approach stems from dedicated, driven, and passionate employees with varying perspectives for our clients and the communities we work and live in.
