Department Overview The Finance Business Unit (BU) Support team is responsible for budgeting, management reporting/analysis, and special projects for Fidelity Canada’s various business areas. The team’s main focus is to support these business areas in achieving their objectives by identifying issues, recommending solutions, providing financial transparency and value‑added financial assessments. This role specifically supports 2 large business units – The Institutional Sales Team and the Finance & Corporate Services team. How You’ll Make an Impact The Finance Manager will be responsible for providing Finance support on larger projects of strategic or business importance by providing consulting, planning, and end‑to‑end business case support for these projects. This role will reside in the Finance department, specifically on BU Support team reporting to the Director of Finance (Business Support), while directly supporting projects and assignments relating to Business or Finance strategy or operations. Primary Responsibilities Lead Business Case Development on behalf of Finance for strategic Business and Finance projects. Distill and convey complex subject matter in simple terms. Deliver effective presentations to senior management including the President, CFO, and Senior Executive Team. Develop end‑to‑end financial models, conduct sensitivity analysis, and develop compelling insights for executive‑level audiences. Lead Pricing Analysis and Strategy for all Pricing Requests. Work with the institutional sales team to lead the financial analysis on non‑standard pricing requests. Create and maintain complex financial models to evaluate new business proposals, focusing on bottom‑line impact, NPV & ROI. Understand Fidelity’s products to best support pricing requests. Communicate with stakeholders (legal, compliance) on non‑standard requests, ensuring any non‑financial considerations are properly reflected in the business case. In partnership with Director Finance Business Support, present business cases in clear and concise terms for executive committee review. Own and maintain the pricing repository, ensuring accurate pricing is communicated and reflected in the billing system. Support Market, Industry, and Competitive research as required. Evaluate macro industry dynamics as they relate to sales, pricing strategy, new business markets and opportunities under evaluation. Determine mechanisms for measuring competitive positioning and market share. Identify and coordinate cross‑functional Finance support for business projects. Determine key stakeholders for new business opportunities and integrate relevant information into business cases and financial models. Lead Business Planning and Forecast efforts across responsible areas. Identify relevant direct and indirect resources required for inclusion in long‑term business plans. Consolidate and analyze data from many sources to complete accurate budget/forecast within prescribed timelines. Complete sales planning and forecasting based on historical trends, industry analysis, and identified pipeline. Develop key performance indicators and post‑implementation assessments for projects and business cases. Participate on Project Team, Working Committee, or Steering Committees as Finance lead. Develop Presentation/Reporting content. In partnership with Director Finance BU Support, develop business cases and analysis for new sales opportunities. Develop and lead analysis on financial implications of pricing decisions. Design new reports and analytics to address business needs and anticipate future requirements, including monthly management reports. What We’re Looking For 4+ years of experience in a Financial Analysis role within a Finance department. University degree focused in Accounting, Business, Commerce, Economics, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Completion of a CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) or MBA. Asset: 2+ years in Finance Manager or equivalent role. Asset: Financial Services industry experience. Asset: Previous experience with pricing strategy. Strong financial and business acumen, translating financial concepts into business terminology. Demonstrated time management & project management fundamentals. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with constantly changing conditions. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI. Strong organization and time management skills. Experience collaborating with peers, managers, and leaders. Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and partners within Finance.
