The Quality Engineer will reduce the risk of late/off‑quality delivery to the customer by working directly with the project and technical managers to mitigate known risks. In some cases, the QE will act as the interface to the customer for factory and sea acceptance trials on an as‑needed basis, requiring some international travel. This role requires an individual with analytical problem‑solving capabilities, strong project management and interpersonal skills, and professional configuration and technical writing skills. Analysis and interpretation of specifications and contractual requirements will be an integral part of the position. Responsibilities Work with project teams to conduct advanced project quality planning (e.g. Quality Assurance Plan, VCRM, ICDs). Develop and maintain Program/Project Quality Assurance Plans. Work closely with Project Managers to ensure project and quality plans are successfully executed and tracked. Create contingency plans and report on any deviations from the approved Quality Assurance Plans for major programs. Provide feedback to project managers on risks and opportunities for improvement to streamline procurement or production. Work directly with program teams to deliver the highest quality documentation and systems according to customer specifications. Work to meet and exceed Contractual Quality Requirements (including flowdown requirements to subcontractors). Responsible for Customer Quality Interface and reporting. Keep a high‑level focus on aligning contractual requirements with manufacturing and development teams. Attend design review meetings and guide team members on programmatic/project best practices. System level signoff at Factory Acceptance Trials, Sea Acceptance Trials. Support the project team to produce and comply with safety requirements, including the system safety program plan. Mitigate supply chain risks by analysing the robustness of supply and close non‑conformances in a timely manner. Work closely with the Systems Engineer to ensure acceptance plans are properly planned and executed. Qualifications Post‑secondary education with an Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial preferred). 5+ years experience in a quality engineering role. Demonstrated career experience developing, contributing to and maintaining Program/Project Quality Assurance Plans. Demonstrated successful project management experience, working with both internal and external stakeholders. Strong technical writing ability. Knowledge of ISO 9001, 2015 compliance standards is desirable. Knowledge of AS 9100 standard and/or aerospace manufacturing is an asset. Experience conducting supplier audits an asset. Must hold a valid Canadian passport for international travel.
