CAD Technologist/Civil Designer

Join our team and discover the opportunities that await. Your Opportunity Our work covers a variety of surface water and tailings management projects located across the country. As a Civil Designer you will guide clients through developing, permitting, and constructing their projects from conceptual design through construction, transforming ideas into fully fledged designs. Your Key Responsibilities Uses knowledge of tools and drafting to complete assigned tasks including 2D and 3D model development, completing design changes, general arrangement drawing production, redlining, plotting, and drafting using CAD/BIM platforms. Works closely with engineers and senior designers on assigned projects. Supports Project Managers in preparing submittals for clients, governmental agencies, permitting agencies, etc. for reviews, approvals, and other milestones. Performs thorough QA/QC of models and sheet files for standards compliance, discipline coordination and ensures comments have been addressed by the responsible CAD technician and others as required. Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Use of Muck 3D would be considered an asset. Your Capabilities and Credentials Ability to work collaboratively on large complex projects. Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation. Working knowledge of software programs including Autodesk and Bentley products such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Working knowledge of basic engineering calculations. Effective time management, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments. Experience importing and processing survey and drone data would be considered an asset. Education and Experience Diploma/certificate in a related program with a minimum of 5+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.
