Civil Technologist

CBCL is seeking an Intermediate to Civil Technologist to join our team in Fredericton, NB Help us shape our work environment and our culture by working collaboratively with other design and construction professionals on challenging and exciting municipal projects, as part of our thriving company. Through all stages of the design process, you will be encouraged to take a leading role in delivering exceptional results for our clients.

Your role with CBCL:

As our ideal candidate, you have an interest in the design, construction oversight and project management of infrastructure projects in the following areas: water transmission and distribution, wastewater collection and pumping, stormwater infrastructure, residential/industrial/commercial developments, and roadway systems.

We are seeking individuals who are excited to participate with an established team of professional engineers and technologists in developing innovative multidisciplinary design solutions with an emphasis on client satisfaction. More specifically, you will:

• Lead and/or coordinate data collection activities including topographic survey and infrastructure investigations;
• Assist in the development of conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs and drawings for the full range of civil/municipal infrastructure including water distribution, sanitary sewer collection systems, pump stations, stormwater management, roadway systems, etc.
• Provide project management and/or construction oversight on construction sites with the support of other senior team members;
• Support the day-to-day activities of projects from inception through engineering, construction and contract administration; and
• Prepare technical reports and cost estimates.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Diploma in engineering technology or equivalent combined with an interest in consulting engineering as a career;
• Registered or eligibility to be registered with NBSCETT;
• 5+ years of experience;
• Have an interest in municipal and heavy civil construction projects;
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcMap would be an asset;
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Effective time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment;
• Be available to work overtime;
• Have a valid Driver's License and be willing to travel occasionally.
