The Near North District School Board Invites applications for the: 2026 Summer School Principal (Grades 7-12) April - August 2026 This position will be of particular interest to individuals interested in developing their system leadership and administration skills within the Near North District School Board. This leadership position includes responsibilities for planning, coordinating, implementing and monitoring the 2026 Summer School program for Intermediate and Senior students and ensuring that it adheres to the policies and procedures of the NNDSB and aligns with the District's Multi-Year Strategic Plan. Specific responsibilities will include program planning, student and staff recruitment, program scheduling, organization, student and staff support, timesheet approvals, management of program expenditures, and implementation and evaluation of 2026 Summer School programming. The successful candidate may have an opportunity to lead the program over the course of multiple years, pending annual review. The successful candidate will exhibit skills and experiences that allow them to effectively: supervise dual credit and co-op offerings, as well as the administration of a variety of NNDSB programs (e.g. CTEP, PADDLE and TOROS [Theatre Outreach on Stage]). supervise both in‑school and remote program learning and provide instructional leadership to enhance program content and engagement. initiate and grow partnerships that positively impact student achievement and/or well‑being. collaborate across NNDSB departments to support the operation of summer programming (e.g. Program, Finance, Human Resources, Plant and Communication departments). collaborate with central staff, the Summer Learning Program coordinator and TOROS leadership team to support the creation and submission of the Summer Programs report to the NNDSB Board. The successful candidate will possess the following: PQP Part 1 and Part 2 A Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate A Valid Certificate of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers Demonstrated successful experience in teaching or guiding and supporting secondary programming content Experience in school, budget and course content planning and scheduling (guidance) and granting of teacher recommended credits Ability to work within Board Administrative Guidelines A Valid Drivers License and a reliable vehicle and willing to travel within the board Proficient monitoring and reporting skills The following are considered an asset: Qualifications in Intermediate and Senior divisions Knowledge of Intermediate and Senior programming Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent organization skills Knowledge and experience with PRISM (eLearning registration system) Working knowledge of LMS, Edsby and PowerSchool All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
