Your Opportunity: This is an exciting opportunity to provide occupational therapy and physical therapy supports in a community-based setting. The settings include, but are not limited to, AHS clinics and homes, utilizing both virtual and in-person supports. The Therapy Assistant assists Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in collecting information to support assessments of children. The role also involves preparing and delivering interventions to assigned clients across various levels, including universal, targeted, and client-specific services. Services are provided to individuals, families, and community partners. This position reports to the Manager, Allied Health Community. Description: As a Therapy Assistant, you will work independently and as part of an interprofessional team under the supervision of audiologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, recreation therapists, or speech-language pathologists. You will contribute to effective rehabilitation services, including direct and indirect client care across the healthcare continuum—covering healthy living, recovery, living with illness and disability, and end-of-life care—for all ages, as well as non-client services. The role requires effective collaboration with internal and external partners, professionalism, and strong ethical standards in client-centered care and team participation. You will demonstrate reflective thinking and a commitment to lifelong learning to enhance individual and team competencies. Additional Required Qualifications: Experience with Connect Care. Experience with virtual service delivery. CPR certification, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal/public relations skills are required, along with excellent communication skills. Previous work experience in Pediatric Occupational/Physical Therapy service delivery is preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity or experience working with Torticollis is considered an asset. Experience supporting Therapy Assistant students and group service delivery are also assets. Ability to prioritize work, work effectively within a team, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service are essential.
