Role Description We are seeking an Assurance & Accounting Manager to join either our North York or Smiths Falls office (with hybrid/remote flexibility). The Manager will oversee a portfolio of assurance, compilation, and tax engagements—ensuring high‑quality deliverables, technical accuracy, and strong client relationships. You will supervise staff, review engagement files, provide technical guidance, and contribute to the firm’s operational excellence. This role offers a clear path for professional growth, including opportunities to participate in business development, practice management, and strategic firm initiatives. Key Responsibilities Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of audit, review, and compilation engagements in accordance with professional standards. Review working papers, financial statements, and tax filings, ensuring compliance with ASPE, ASNPO, and firm quality control standards. Manage multiple client relationships, proactively addressing accounting and advisory needs. Supervise, train, and mentor staff accountants to foster technical development and professional growth. Collaborate with partners on engagement planning, billing, and client communications. Participate in business development efforts, including networking, proposal preparation, and identifying new opportunities within existing client relationships. Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and client service delivery. Contribute to firm management initiatives such as CSQM compliance, workflow optimization, and technology adoption. Qualifications Minimum 3–5 years of progressive public accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role. Strong working knowledge of CaseWare (CaseView), Microsoft Office, and familiarity with TaxPrep or equivalent software. Solid understanding of ASPE and ASNPO frameworks; assurance experience is essential. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and lead engagement teams effectively. Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in business development and firm growth.
