OverviewThis position provides health and safety training, delivery and design for all branch specific requirements including but not limited to: Hazard assessment, energy isolation, fall protection, crane & rigging, forklift, blocking and cribbing, press tooling, and near miss reporting for internal customers. This training will be delivered both in person and virtually. This position works with the facility safety coordinators to develop plans and scheduling to meet the training needs.CompanyFinning CanadaNumber of Openings1Worker TypePermanentJob DescriptionDeliver in-person and virtual OHS training courses at multiple Finning Canada facilitiesEvaluate learners through theory and practical skillsMaintain certification and stay up to date on all course deliverablesEnsure that administrative requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner, including evaluations, expenses, etc.Locate, assemble and provide “hands on” training material, training aids and documents for in-class delivery. Develop agendas, objectives, exams, course manuals and presentation material and deliver effective training using a variety of methodsLocate, assemble and provide health and safety training aids, and shop space for required “hands on” application of in-class theory.Coordinate movement of training aids, confirm classroom space at other branches, and provide cost quotes for training to be delivered to customers to complete the necessary paperwork for data entry in the training databaseAssist the service departments with health and safety requirements and facility needs for specific health and safety trainingComplete in-person practical and competency assessments for all safety coursesBe a Safety AmbassadorStrong role model for health and safety in the workplaceAct as a subject matter expert, as required, to Learning and Development Team in order to assist in the development or modification of course contentParticipate in OHS and Learning and Development Team meetingsPartner with Facilities in Their Safety Training PlansWork with OHS Training coordinator to plan and book training with facilitiesWork closely with OHS team and facilities to help address safety concernsEducation & Experience5 to 10 years of practical experience using adult learning techniques and best practices in a trainer/facilitator capacity including both virtual and in-person environments with both technical and non-technical audiences.Proficiency with MS Office applications and internal systemsHealth and Safety certifications and accreditations (e.g. WHMIS, Working at Heights, Train the Trainer programs, Joint Health and Safety Committee, CRSP)Standard First Aid & CPR/AED certification is an assetFlexibility and ability to travel is essential.
