Clinical Nurse Leader – Island Health As a Clinical Nurse Leader, you will provide leadership in the day-to-day operations of an assigned unit/service area. You will offer guidance to the multidisciplinary team, coordinate and facilitate daily clinical activities, and ensure effective use of resources. Responsibilities Act as the communication liaison between multidisciplinary team members and external healthcare professionals and administrative personnel. Supervise staff, providing leadership and serving as a role model and coach to support professional development and achievement of unit/service goals. Contribute to the monitoring and development of the operating plan. Provide leadership within the unit/service for quality and risk management activities. Qualifications Graduation from a recognised nursing program or evidence of equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practising RN registrant. Three to five years of recent related experience, including two years of relevant clinical experience. Skills & Abilities Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to supervise, organise, coordinate and prioritise own work and that of others. Ability to use a collaborative approach to problem solving supported by a systems approach. Ability to effectively employ human relation skills including conflict resolution. Contributes to the professional and organisational vision as it pertains to clinical practice and patient care. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Demonstrated commitment to collaborative practice and lifelong learning. Ability to operate related equipment. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
