Job Description The Environment team is actively seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to deliver projects across pre‑ and post‑award phases, including Design‑Bid‑Build, Design‑Build, Progressive Design‑Build, and Construction Manager General Contractor models. The role requires obtaining approvals, consulting with regulatory agencies, and managing Environmental Management Systems. Responsibilities Collaborate with technical specialists to plan and deliver environmental components for transit, highway, bridge, tunnel, and multimodal transportation projects. Develop and manage environmental scope, scope of work, and fee agreements with contractors, subconsultants, and project managers. Coordinate environmental work for projects, providing guidance and ensuring alignment with company and project policies. Review legal, regulatory, and commercial matters relevant to transportation infrastructure. Draft environmental contractual obligations and project-specific documentation. Support project managers in leading Environmental Assessments (EAs) and due diligence programs. Engage in AECOM technical practice groups and contribute to business development, including proposal writing and industry association participation. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management/Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Urban and Regional Planning or related field. 6+ years’ experience in project delivery across design and construction phases. Experience with Ontario Environmental Assessment (EA) Act, municipal EAs, and related legislation (e.g., Fisheries Act, Endangered Species Act, Species at Risk Act). Strong communication skills and ability to negotiate with regulatory agencies. Knowledge of EMS standards such as ISO 14001:2015. Class G driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years’ experience in design‑build and construction‑manager projects. Professional membership (e.g., RPP, MCIP, EP, PMP). Bilingual in English and French. Compensation Salary range: CAD 82,000 – CAD 130,000 per year, based on education, experience, and location. Location Hybrid – Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada (or comparable application).
