Job Description

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the continuous improvement of the heat & material balances of our processes
  • Processes include, but are not limited to: stone feed, process of calcining into lime, lime quality, all inputs to production, stone, fuels, additives, post-production packaging, etc.
  • Have ownership of the process and in charge of process improvement and optimization
  • Root causes analysis on process issues
  • Providing process support for troubleshooting, optimization, and planning to production, maintenance, and quality control
  • Records any problems related to the process or system; initiates, recommends, provides and/or implements solutions
  • Involved in maintenance planning meetings, outage meetings, and continuous improvement meetings
  • Hold at least one daily handoff meeting with operators and team leaders about the daily instructions, production expectations and any barriers they had during their shift
  • Work with Engineering to design, implement plant modification from the startup and transitioning to the continuous monitoring and optimization phase
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Required Skills

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in root cause analysis and process engineering within maintenance, operations or plant engineering environments
  • Industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc., preferred
  • A 'take charge' person with a Positive & Proactive attitude with the ability to perform with minimal supervision
  • Able and willing to spend the majority of time in the plant with the operators
  • Technical aptitude & analytical skills
  • Detail & process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
