CNC Mill Operator

OverviewBrannon Steel is looking for an experienced CNC Mill Operator for the afternoon shift (Monday to Friday, 2PM to 10PM) and night shift (Sunday-Thursday 11PM to 7AM) at its Brampton manufacturing facility. You will operate one or more CNC VMCs in a busy production environment, processing large runs of carbon steel parts for world-class heavy equipment OEMs.ResponsibilitiesSetup, operate and troubleshoot one or more Mazak CNC VMCs based on assigned scheduleMonitor machine functions and act promptly to correct errorsPerform part prep and machine loading / unloadingHandle steel parts manually and using hoistsRead and interpret drawings, machine programs, and production documentsPerform thorough visual and dimensional checks to ensure parts meet specificationsPerform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning, monitoring fluid levels and emptying chip collectorComplete production and quality documentsRequirementsSuccessful completion of a Mechanical Engineering Technologist or similar program5+ years of practical experience setting up, operating and troubleshooting CNC VMCsProficient at reading technical drawings including GD&TSkilled in the use of basic and precision measuring toolsFluent in both imperial and metric systemsRead and interpret G-codePerform intermediate mathStrong attention to detailLift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)Speak, read, and write English at a conversational levelAble to work Monday to Friday, 2PM to 10PM OR Sunday to Thursday, 11PM - 7AMBenefitsUp to $2 per hour in afternoon shift premiums and up to $4 per hour in night shift premiumsOvertime after 40 hours per weekService award program including travel vouchers for $3,000, $5,000, and $10,000 for 10, 20, and 30 years of serviceGroup RRSP program with contribution matching up to 5% of regular annual earningsFull-time, permanent work at a stable, family-owned companyCompany-supplied tools and equipment, uniforms, safety boots, and prescription safety glassesAir-conditioned CNC room with well-maintained machinesExtended health coverage including prescriptions, paramedical expenses, and emergency travel assistanceDental coverage including preventive, diagnostic, and treatment servicesShort and long-term disability insuranceLife and AD&D insuranceEmployee & family assistance programA friendly work environment where people support each otherAnnual golf tournament, summer barbeques and moreBrannon Steel is an equal opportunity employer.
