Preference may be given to qualified applicants who identify with these groups. Duties SU-01 – Grounds Maintenance Student Maintain trails, gardens, grounds, roads, and waste facilities. Assist trades staff with construction and installation tasks. Perform general maintenance and repairs as directed. SU-02 – Student Heritage Presenter Learn and deliver educational programs and guided tours. Present interpretive demonstrations and assist with special events. Act as site ambassador and operate point-of-sale systems. SU-03 – Student Visitor Facilities Attendant Clean and maintain visitor facilities (washrooms, campsites, picnic areas). Perform tasks like litter pick-up and emptying trash/recycling bins. Provide basic information and directions to visitors. SU-04 – Student Visitor Services Attendant Greet visitors, issue passes, and collect fees. Provide detailed information on campgrounds, trails, safety, and park rules. Sell passes and retail items and accurately handle revenue. SU-05 – Social media, Promotions and Outreach Create and monitor social media content to engage audiences. Produce videos/photos and assist with graphic design and editing. Support outreach events and external relations initiatives. SU-06 – Resource Conservation Student Assist with ecological monitoring, restoration, and species-at-risk programs. Collect and record data, control invasive species, and prepare reports. Work outdoors in varied conditions, handle wildlife, and travel by boat/vehicle. Work environment Bruce Peninsula National Park (BPNP) and Fathom Five National Marine Park (FFNMP) are located at the northern tip of the Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula, within the territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation Anishinabek. Bruce Peninsula National Park features dramatic cliffs plunging into the turquoise waters of Georgian Bay, vast forests, and diverse habitats that support black bears, rare reptiles, ancient cedar trees, and unique orchids and ferns. Fathom Five National Marine Park, Canada’s first national marine park, is renowned for its deep freshwater ecosystem, striking rock formations, cliff-top forests, historic shipwrecks, and rare orchid species. Together, these parks protect rich and complex ecosystems at the heart of the Great Lakes. Each year, they welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors seeking adventure, inspiration, and a deeper connection with nature. Intent of the process We are creating a pool of qualified students for positions at Bruce Peninsula National Park. This pool may also be used to fill student jobs at other locations within the Eastern and Central Ontario Field Unit. Conditions of employment Reliability Status security clearance - Possess and maintain a valid Class G2 or G drivers licence. Wear a Parks Canada uniform as per the uniform policy.Work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required. You need (essential for the job) Applied / assessed at a later date Education: You must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited secondary or post-secondary institution and officially recognized as having full-time status by your school. Knowledge of Saugeen Ojibway Nation Anishinabek. Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively orally. Ability to work as part of a team.
