(Hiring multiple positions Toronto) This position is ideal for Child & Youth Workers (CYC/CYW) with one year or more of experience supporting youth with complex needs including trauma, substance use, homelessness, mental-health challenges, or sexual exploitation. Based in Toronto, these full-time, part-time, and casual relief opportunities support a specialized 24/7 residential treatment program for female youth aged 1217 who are survivors of sexual exploitation, trafficking, and gender-based violence. Compensation ranges from $27.89$32.47 per hour, depending on role type, experience, and schedule. About the Opportunity HealthOPM is recruiting on behalf of a respected Toronto-based non-profit organization that operates a trauma-informed, anti-human trafficking (AHT) live-in treatment program for high-needs youth. As a Child & Youth Worker, you will provide care, supervision, therapeutic support, crisis intervention, safety monitoring, and structured routines within a residential environment. You will collaborate with clinicians, peer support workers, and interdisciplinary team members to support healing, regulation, and long-term stabilization. Location: North York, ON. Key Responsibilities Provide care, supervision, and emotional support to youth within a trauma-informed residential environment Support youth wellbeing, daily functioning, life skills, and therapeutic goals Participate in treatment programming, meetings, and care planning discussions Monitor safety through room checks, environmental scans, and crisis de-escalation Maintain a safe, clean, and structured residential environment in line with licensing standards Complete documentation, shift reports, safety logs, and administrative requirements (per MCCSS and organizational policies) Support a non-judgmental, relationship-based, strengths-focused environment Uphold equity-based, anti-oppressive, and inclusive practices in daily interactions Qualifications & Requirements (Must-Haves) CYC/CYW Diploma or Degree Minimum 1 year of experience in a live-in treatment, residential, group home, shelter, or high-needs youth setting Strong knowledge of: Crisis management & intervention Trauma-informed care Harm reduction, conflict resolution, motivational interviewing Gender-based violence, sexual exploitation & human trafficking Understanding of: Child Welfare systems, CYFSA, Ministry standards Social determinants of health & systemic violence Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility (IDEA) Anti-oppressive, anti-racism, and anti-Black racism frameworks Strong emotional intelligence, relational awareness, and professional boundaries Ability to work in a 24/7 residential program (overnight, weekend, or relief as applicable) Assets (Nice-to-Haves) Experience or lived experience connected to exploitation, trafficking, or gender-based violence Experience in youth shelters or gender-based violence programs Certified in CPR/First Aid, CPI or similar crisis training Fluency in another language (including ASL) Valid drivers license & vehicle (asset) Why Apply Through HealthOPM Access to permanent and casual opportunities with respected community organizations Fast-track screening and direct support throughout the hiring process Opportunities to grow within youth mental-health, anti-human trafficking, and trauma-informed care Meaningful work supporting vulnerable youth on their path toward safety and recovery About HealthOPM HealthOPM provides recruitment support for healthcare, mental health, and community-based programs across Canada.
