Drive Autogroup is currently seeking a detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of demonstrating effective leadership, direct and mentor teams to meet objectives, has excellent communication skills, and can work in a fast-paced environment while adapting to business priority changes with ease. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting financial reporting, and managing day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for contributing to a successful dealership operation. Responsibilities Assist in managing all aspects of the dealership’s financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and industry standards. Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasted targets. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize profitability. Manage cash flow and liquidity for the dealership, including cash reserves and investments. Implement effective cash management strategies to meet financial obligations and maximize returns. Oversee compliance with manufacturer’s warranty programs and related reimbursement processes. Evaluate the financial impact of sales promotions and recommend adjustments as necessary. Conduct cost analysis to identify areas for cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements. Ensure that all tax obligations are met. Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable. Monitor and enforce internal controls to safeguard dealership assets. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with dealership policies and procedures. Assist in the preparation for audits and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Mandatory Qualifications Prior experience as an automotive financial controller or assistant controller. Proficiency with an automotive DMS such as CDK, Reynolds and Reynolds, etc. Additional Qualifications Degree in Accounting or CPA would be considered an asset. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
