Reporting to the Manager, Careers and Work Integrated Learning, this part‑time role works closely with the Employer and Community Partner Outreach Specialist (ECPS), the work‑integrated learning (WIL) and experiential learning (EL) Program Leads, the broader Careers and Work Integrated Learning (CWIL) team, and the Master's Program Office. The Coordinator will advise employers on student competencies, opportunities to engage with Master's students, and effective recruitment strategies. The primary focus will be on supporting the new Master of Management in Analytics (MMA) program, with additional support for MBA student programming in the Alberta School of Business. Responsibilities include building partnership agreements, maintaining the CWIL employer database, organizing events, and supporting various marketing and data‑related tasks. Responsibilities Relationship Management (45%) Collaborate with ECPS and other CWIL staff to develop and maintain a corporate and business network by actively pursuing relationships with external partners to support the expansion of WIL, EL, and other employment opportunities for Master's students, including MMA and MBA students Assist with employer inquiries and provide information about opportunities to engage with Business students and/or CWIL services and programs, or refer to other WIL, EL, or Careers offices at the University of Alberta when appropriate Provide advice to employers on recruitment strategies and best practices for engaging with Master's students, primarily the MMA and MBA Attend events to help represent the CWIL office and the School of Business at trade fairs, conferences, industry mixers, and/or other relevant events to increase awareness of opportunities for partnerships or participation in CWIL programming Work to ensure that the CWIL employer database is current and update contact information as needed Assist with established processes for managing grant and wage subsidy programs Act as back‑up for ECPS, including posting jobs and other outreach activities Employer/Community Outreach (35%) Work with employers to create internships, either as individual opportunities or as part of partnership agreements, for MMA and MBA students Identify underrepresented industries, sectors and geographic locations in WIL and employment opportunities and develop strategies to increase the diversity of job postings for students Identify external partners for career education and experiential learning opportunities for students, such as alumni mixer brunches, guest speakers, and capstone projects Identify potential employers, industry associations, and community partners and conduct outreach initiatives to generate employment opportunities for students and promote participation in CWIL services and programs Collaborate with CWIL Staff, Advancement, and other WIL/EL Careers offices at the University of Alberta to support the development of employment, WIL or EL opportunities for Business students Marketing and Event Planning (15%) Develop marketing materials that promote CWIL services and programs to employers Conduct employer and labor market research to identify trends and opportunities to engage with employers and other stakeholders Collaborate on events that facilitate networking between employers and students, including Career Cafes and Career Treks Collaborate with CWIL staff or other Careers offices at the University of Alberta to organize or support Career Fairs and other Career, WIL or EL‑related events Special Projects (5%) Conduct environmental scans to ensure relevant job postings are included in Orbis (job posting system) Secondary point of contact for general employer email inquiries; work with CWIL Programs Coordinator and ECPS to ensure positions are posted promptly Assist with data collection, data analysis, and preparing reports as needed Some evening or weekend work may be required, and occasional travel within Canada may be necessary.
