Role and Facility Information Williams Lake is in BC’s Central Interior Region, otherwise known as the Cariboo Chilcotin Region, and is famous for the annual Williams Lake Stampede. There is a population of approximately 35,000 in Williams Lake and surrounding areas with a total population of 62,000 for the Cariboo Regional District. Cariboo Memorial is under renovation with planned completion in 2026 Currently, CMH is a Level 2 Community Hospital in Williams Lake with 28 inpatient beds. The hospital offers ER, OR, Med‑Surg, and Obstetrical units, along with lab and diagnostic imaging. The CMH redevelopment project includes an addition of 25 in‑patient beds, a new emergency department, and a mental‑health unit. Join a collaborative mental health team that includes community general practitioners, a child psychiatrist, social workers, therapists, and outreach nurses, all committed to developing innovative approaches to meet needs across the lifespan. Responsibilities Provide urgent psychiatric support to Cariboo Memorial Hospital’s ER and Gateway Crisis Stabilization Unit. Deliver clinical services in the new 8‑bed inpatient psychiatry unit (scheduled to open in 2026). Offer tele‑psychiatry support to psychiatrists located in Kamloops. Participate in quality improvement projects and program development activities. Provide services in remote Aboriginal communities, in‑person or via telehealth. Engage in community education activities and UBC teaching opportunities through the UBC Department of Psychiatry. Collaborate with local family practitioners to implement a patient medical home model aligned with Interior Health’s Mental Health and Substance Use Program. Compensation Compensation Type: Combination; Estimated Remuneration: TBD Benefits and Incentives May be eligible for additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA). Retention Premium: 12.32% Retention Flat Fee: $19,092 Relocation Funding: $9,000 – $15,000 (based on move location) Recruitment Incentive: $15,000 RCME support up to $6,600 after 4 years Loan forgiveness programs for BC or Canada student loans.
