Construction Estimator - High Rise ResidentialAbout the job Construction Estimator - High Rise ResidentialSoftware International (SI) supplies technical talent to a variety ofFortune 100/500/1000 companies and many other clients in Canada/US.Due to strong growth, our client, a leading residential high rise developer is looking to add aConstruction Estimatorto their team.As a Construction Estimator, your duties may include the following:Prepare estimates for high rise residential development projects forprobable costs of materials, labour and equipment, and subcontracts for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specificationsAdvise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards and conduct negotiationsEstablish and maintain tendering processesSet up cost monitoring and reporting systems and proceduresPrepare cost and expenditure statements and forecasts at regular intervals for the duration of a projectPrepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractorsLiaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors, and prepare economic feasibility studies on changes and adjustments to cost estimatesManage and co-ordinate construction projects, and prepare construction progress schedulesWork CondictionsThe standard workweek for construction estimators is 40 hours (8 hours a day, 5 days a week). As with many careers in construction, there are peak periods that will require you to work overtime to ensure projects are being finished on time/budget.Construction estimators work in offices, but spend some time on construction sites reviewing progress and meeting with project stakeholders. They work with construction supervisors and managers to ensure accurate and up-to-date reports.Job Requirements10+ years of experience within construction estimation field3+ years working on high rise residentialproejctsHolds a valid G/G2 drivers licenseExperience with take offsStrong background with reviewing/working with markups #J-18808-Ljbffr
