Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Home District/Group: Kiewit Nuclear Solutions Department: Quality Market: Nuclear Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview Reporting to the Project Quality Manager, the Quality Control Supervisor – Balance of Plant (BOP) will supervise and oversee the quality control inspection staff in the Balance of Plant segment. The QC Supervisor – BOP will work with other Kiewit sectors and Alliance partners to monitor construction systems and processes that achieve outstanding nuclear safety metrics and cost‑effective quality operational results in support of the DNNP. This position is a contract role with a duration of 8 months. The successful candidate will be local to Darlington, Oshawa, or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate. Responsibilities Ensure Quality Control requirements for the Balance of Plant segment are effectively controlled and executed. Assist in developing and implementing project‑specific quality control procedures and work instructions to support construction activities. Supervise and support the Quality Control Team assigned to the Balance of Plant segment. Interface with engineering, procurement, and construction groups on planning QC activities required by design and applicable codes and standards, including Preparation of Inspection and Test Plans, Construction Work Packages, and NCR management. Implement and oversee quality control procedures on site to ensure construction meets all specifications and standards, including inspections, staff supervision, materials management, documentation, and liaison with project managers and clients. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop and enhance project quality documentation such as inspection checklists, test protocols, work instructions, and project‑specific procedures. Establish a culture of continuous improvement by identifying new practices that contribute to overall project effectiveness. Ensure inspections are timely based on the construction schedule. Maintain liaison with Alliance Partners on quality control requirements of the Balance of Plant segment. Promote a culture of safety and quality within the BOP Team. Support internal audits and customer oversight activities. Assist the construction team with understanding codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Review and approve Lifetime Records (LTRs). Perform any other requirements as outlined in Kiewit’s Quality Manuals. Qualifications Post‑secondary education in a related field. Minimum 7 years of experience in a related field with 5 years of supervisory experience. Experience in the civil heavy construction industry. Good understanding of the following codes and standards: CSA A23.1/A23.2/A23.4, ACI, ASTM, OPSS, ISO 9001:2015. Knowledge of continuous improvement and process improvement methodologies. Understanding of design and construction requirements. Strong coordination and organization skills with emphasis on accuracy and diligence. Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written, with internal departments, Alliance partners, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities. CWB Weld Inspector – Level II (CWB W178.2) certification is an asset. AWS Weld Inspector certifications are an asset. Other Requirements: Regular, reliable attendance. Work productively and meet deadlines. Communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others in individual or team settings. Perform work safely, following oral and written instructions, warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. Work during normal operating hours and complete work within given deadlines; overtime and weekends may be required. May work at various locations with varying conditions.
