As a Senior Advisor, Contractor Compliance with Trans Mountain, you will have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of Compliance professionals in the Calgary Head Office.

This role will establish the operational and tactical objectives for the design, development, effective implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of Trans Mountain’s Contractor Compliance function through an established governance framework, to implement, monitor, maintain and improve integrated processes and systems used across Trans Mountain.

Leadership

  • Lead all Contractor Competency Assurance Program (CCAP) activities in accordance with Trans Mountain’s Management System and Quality Assurance Program
  • Provide leadership to Trans Mountain departments with regard to Contractor training, competencies, and qualifications, including CQS development and implementation.
  • Trouble shoot issues with internal stakeholders and third-party contractor related to Trans Mountain’s requirements for Contractor Compliance and understand the diverse needs.
  • Directly supervise a compliance staff (1-2) in their daily work activities, providing support and mentorship on various projects, reviewing work (as required) and providing constructive feedback
  • Conduct regular performance discussion with compliance staff and provide advice to Director on succession planning, promotions, and annual performance evaluations
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and continual improvement of CCAP and Contractor Risk Evaluation (CRE)- processes, and related systems.
  • Lead development and maintenance of various forms of communications and training (both awareness level and complex) on CCAP and CRE.
  • Recognize the diverse informational needs and expectations across Trans Mountain from Executive and Senior Management to field-level staff and provide simple and appropriate reporting.
  • Plan and organize, meetings and work groups, as required.

Reporting and Maintenance

  • Maintain Trans Mountain’s CCAP and CRE process through continual reviews and updates with Program Managers, Directors and other staff.
  • Ensure effective, regular reporting to Directors and Managers on Trans Mountain’s performance related to Contractor compliance through providing value-added and timely information across various levels of the organization.
  • Implement system improvements based on stakeholder feedback and deficiencies identified

Director Support

  • Work with Director, Compliance and Enterprise Risk in conducting an annual assessment of CQS across Trans Mountain departments to ensure consistency and adequacy of training and competency requirements
  • Assist the Director, Compliance and Enterprise Risk with quarterly reporting related to Contractor compliance

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in compliance-related fields; or management system development and implementation; or training and competency management.
  • Post-Secondary Education in Commerce, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Management Systems Development, Implementation, Monitoring and Maintenance
  • Experience in Corrective Action Management and KPI Reporting
  • Experience with Governance Implementation and Committee Management
  • Ability to create reports and presentations for various leadership, including Executive Leadership.
  • Comfortable with meeting and workshop facilitation for a variety of audiences.

Trans Mountain also operates through 15 First Nation Reserves located within the region spanning the BC interior through Fraser Valley.
