Cougar Fuels Ltd. is looking for a Human Resources Lead to join our team This is a Monday – Friday position located in Fort McMurray at our Taiganova office.Key Accountabilities· Provide expert guidance on employee relations, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and employment law compliance, ensuring a fair and respectful work environment.· Develop and implement progressive HR initiatives that enhance employee experience, workforce retention, and engagement.· Partner with leaders to attract, retain, and develop top talent, particularly in a seasonal business environment.· Develop and update company employment polices and other workplace policies.· Ensure that Commitment, Attitude, and Respect are embedded in every aspect of HR policies, programs, and company culture.· Facilitate and enhance performance management and development program.· Utilize HR data and workforce analytics to support strategic decision-making, performance management, and continuous improvement.Education and Experience· 5+ years of progressive experience in HR, business leadership, or workforce management, with at least 1+ years in a leadership role.· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).· CPHR or an equivalent professional HR designation (e.g., SHRM-SCP, CHRL, or similar) is an asset.· Additional training or certification in employment law, organizational development, or change management is an assetSkills and Knowledge· Extensive knowledge of Canadian employment laws, labor relations, and HR compliance, with a proactive approach to risk mitigation.· Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop employees at all levels, fostering a culture of engagement and high performance.· A track record of driving HR innovation, implementing modern HR strategies, and optimizing HR processes to support business growth.· Strong experience in change management, workforce planning, and talent retention strategies.· Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.· Experience managing HR in a seasonal business environment is an asset.· Knowledge of the oil industry is an asset.Why Cougar FuelsWe want you to have a job you’re genuinely excited about—as well as opportunities to learn and challenge yourself or mentor others.
