Job Summary

Regional InHouse Manager is responsible for all InHouse personnel within the assigned region. Use best practices, standard work, and policies as outlined by Siegwerk CUSA Inc. to drive Safety culture, manage staffing and operations, support press side color management activities, coordinate trials, and support InHouse transitions. Through these activities, the Regional Manager will ensure customer needs are met to the best of the team’s ability. Complies with all company policies and standards to include (but not limited to): (1) maintain a neat, clean and Safe work area; (2) maintain regular and consistent attendance; and (3) must have the ability to maintain positive working relationships.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervises multiple large to small size in-house accounts, assessing and determining priorities, striving to continually improve efficiencies within all operations.
  • Monitor operational activities to sustain Safety, consistency, and accuracy. Maintain and utilize action register to drive improvements. Define and Measure cost savings opportunities within the IH location(s).
  • Work with minimal oversight on InHouse projects to improve KPI’s of IH location(s) by implementing standards and optimized workflows
  • Provide hands on Support & Training for InHouse tasks. Oversee and/or coordinate customer training on technical ink printing processes that include (but not limited to): color matching, thin ink work off process, formula change-over, and color theory.
  • Work closely with InHouse technicians, Application Technology, Account Managers, and SCM manufacturing to coordinate and ensure that customer needs are met along with ensuring proper procedures, service, and quality standards are established.
  • Facilitates and coordinates new In-house transitions, assisting customers with transition from competitor’s ink to Siegwerk ink.
  • Supervises ink processing in client facility to insure smooth operation. Troubleshoots pre-press and processing printing issues (Flexo, Roto Gravure, Offset, UV or Water-based). Works directly with customer, providing solutions, recommendations, and actions to correct problem(s).
  • Reports technical issues to Siegwerk CUSA Applications Technology team for assistance as necessary.
  • Performs hands-on press side and ink room duties as required.
  • Prepares and distributes customer correspondence.
  • Manage regional vacation coverage.
  • Ensures that we meet/exceed GCS initiatives across the region.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must possess all the following skills, knowledge, and abilities:
  • Extensive mechanical printing knowledge of more than one printing process (Flexo, Roto Gravure, Offset, UV, Water-based), and has a clear understanding and knowledge of the different press configurations.
  • Extensive knowledge of printing operating conditions.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of fluid ink handling as well as chemistry make up of the majority of Siegwerk CUSA Inc.’s marketed systems.
  • Basic understanding of substrates and their end use, understanding customer lamination QC testing methods and specifications and basic lab testing equipment for the majority of substrates printed.
  • Understands the basic workings of the K Coater, Hand proofer, and K proofer along with advantages/disadvantages. Ability to match color.
  • Ability to work in a continually changing environment with shifting priorities and requirements.
  • Ability to work with computers and all Microsoft applications. Full knowledge of ink management and dispenser software
  • Full knowledge of Siegwerk Safety policy and is trained in safety audit and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues and reporting team verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or organization employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience with 5 years Ink room management/supervisory experience.

Experience with printing processes such as Flexo, Roto Gravure, utilizing Solvent-based and/or Water-based ink technologies is required.

Experience with (or has been trained) physical color matching of fluid inks, in-house ink room operational procedures and processes. Experience with, and thorough working knowledge of ink management software, reports, and daily processes.
