A Financial Services Manager in a dealership environment oversees and manages the dealership's finance and insurance operations. They work closely with customers to offer financing options, ensure credit approvals, and assist in finalizing vehicle sales. The role involves creating and presenting financing packages, selling insurance products, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. They also collaborate with sales teams to optimize the dealership's profitability by offering competitive finance terms and managing relationships with lenders. Strong customer service, organizational, and negotiation skills are essential. What drives your day‑to‑day? Explain and demonstrate financial options to customers Deal directly with lenders and financial institutions Prepare and document all final delivery documentation Meet and exceed sales goals by selling extended products (protection packages, extended warranties, life and health insurance, environmental protection packages) Adhere to professional ethics and be respectful to customers Stay knowledgeable of provincial regulations regarding finance and the Fair Credit Reporting Act Interact with appropriate departments Structure deals in accordance with lender and dealership guidelines Accurately book deals Never misrepresent equipment Perform credit interview and prepare credit application Verify accuracy of all information on the credit application and submit to lender Maintain confidentiality of customer information Sell credit insurance and service contracts Maintain good lender relations Maintain a lender guide of programs currently in use and obtain a working knowledge of them Analyze credit reports, recognize a conventional deal, and turn over accordingly Maintain dead files for inactive deals Overcome objections of prospective customers What are the must‑haves? 3‑5 years’ experience in the automotive business Excellent understanding of sales, finance, and management Experience and working relationships with financial institutions Proven record for performance with set goals Excellent oral, written, and listening skills Judgment and decision‑making skills; ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and choose the appropriate path Identify measures of performance and actions needed to improve or correct performance Efficient knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and e‑mail software, and use of the Internet Ability to read, understand, and calculate banking figures such as discounts, interest rates, percentages, and commission Prioritization skills necessary to use time effectively and set action plans to achieve business targets Must be legally authorized to work in Canada Bilingual language skills (French and English preferred) required for this role The perks.
