Shift Pattern The shift pattern for this post is Monday – Friday 08:30 – 16:30, with flexibility to meet service needs. Term and Start Date This is a Fixed term post for 12 months. The start date is planned for the 5th August 2026. Position New opportunity for career development – Glasgow Clinical Research Facility Clinical Research Fellow – Paediatrics 40hrs/week (12 months fixed term) Secondment or Job‑share opportunity About the Facility The Glasgow Clinical Research Facility incorporates Clinical Research Facilities at the QEUH/RHC and GRI, with satellite units at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Gartnavel General Hospital and the Dental Hospital. Jointly they provide a streamlined service to investigators to conduct their clinical research efficiently and safely. Role Overview Glasgow has a worldwide reputation as a centre of excellence for medical research and innovation. This post will provide the opportunity for the successful applicant to develop expertise in all aspects of delivering clinical research, working to protocol and developing an understanding of pharmacovigilance and research governance within a supportive environment. It is anticipated that the post‑holder will be involved in high profile trials which have the potential to significantly impact on patient care. Eligibility and Training The post is best suited for trainees who have completed basic core training in paediatrics. The successful post‑holder will be required to successfully complete training in consent and Good Clinical Practice to ensure that the rights, safety and well‑being of patients and the high quality of the research data are maintained within the CRF. Full funding of these courses will be provided through the CRF. Full time or part time will be considered. The successful post‑holder will be required to have experience of working in the NHS. As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
