AECOM is looking for a Senior Environmental Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist for its Halifax NS location. This is a full-timerole.Job Summary :The role will be a combination of project management and technical work delivery though the work can / may vary based on the applicants experience and career aspirations.This position is ideally suited to a Senior Environmental Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist with technical and project management strengths. This position will primarily shadow acting project managers as a deputy project manager on large multidisciplinary engineering projects with the future goal to act as a project manager on such projects and pursue business development opportunities with local and government clientele.Additionally there are opportunities for candidates who would like to continue to build their technical background to have access to training and careers opportunities if of interest.This position requires excellent written and spoken communication skills organizational and time management skills flexibility to work on a range of projects and a positive attitude. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team clients site personnel and office management and have the ability to work both independently and as a part of a project team.The successful candidate will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.Major Responsibilities :The job responsibilities for the position will include but will not be limited to :Supervision or coordination of intermediate and junior staff conducting field programs to collect and analyze environmental data.Management or coordination of long-term monitoring programs.Review or coordination of project deliverables : workplans technical letters memorandums reports drawings and detailed design packages.Review and preparation of project specifications contract documents and cost estimates related to remedial options analysis and implementation.Development and implementation of technical approaches or solutions as part of project team.Performing project supervision administration and monitoring including contract close out and reporting (both office and field duties).Project management responsibilities may include :Technical and quality coordinationProposal and scope change preparationScope and budget trackingContract administration including obtaining purchase orders and subcontractor agreementsCollaborating and coordinate work with peers from the environment business peers from other engineering disciplines clients contractors and sub-consultantsQualifications :Minimum Requirements :Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline (Geotechnical Geology Environmental Engineering etc.) six (6)years of related experience within this field.Experience with mining related projects including historical mine sites.Experience with contaminated sites in Nova Scotia.Understanding of the Nova Scotia Contaminated Sites Guidelines and associated regulation and protocols.Registered or have the ability to register with Engineers Nova Scotia as a . or Association of Professional Geoscientists of Nova Scotia as a .Demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education may be considered.Preferred Qualifications :Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline (Geotechnical Geology Environmental Engineering etc.) ten (10)years of related experience within this field.Masters in a relevant discipline (Geotechnical Geology Environmental Engineering etc.).or registered 10 years of technical experience within environmental engineering.Ability to become a registered Contaminated Site Professional with the Province of Nova Scotia.Proposal writing job scoping project plans.Willingness to travel to job sites (sometimes remote) on occasion.Working in a team setting to meet timelines and quality management.Proficient with MS Office Suite; excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.Additional Information :About AECOMAECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
