THE ROLE

Lead corporate accounting and investment finance functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Act as point of contact for corporate accounting inquiries, technical accounting issues, budgeting and forecasting issues.

THE TASKSCorporate Accounting & Management Reporting
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including payroll, expense management, and cash flow.
  • Oversee banking and lending relationships.
  • Enter, review and approve month-end journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare high-risk month-end entries for investments, related party transactions, and consolidation.
  • Coordinate annual audits and tax reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and review annual budget and ongoing monitoring of company results including the budget to actual variance analysis on monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Develop fee projections for clients with bespoke fee structures.
  • Oversee outsourced investment accounting services.
  • Monitor capital call and distribution activities in coordination with third party fund administrator.
Operations & HR
  • Collaborate with Managing Partners and external providers to oversee key operational and HR functions.
  • Manage payroll processing, benefits administration, and other essential business operations.

THE EXPECTATIONS TIMELINE PREVIEWBy Month 1
  • Master day-to-day corporate accounting operations including month-end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of fund accounting oversight with 3rd party fund accounting team, including capital call and distribution monitoring, and other fund administration matters
  • Successfully manage payroll system with minimal supervision
By Month 3
  • Actively contribute to internal meetings, providing financial insights and recommendations
  • Run independently with minimal guidance on all core financial responsibilities
  • Confidently represent the finance function in discussions with external stakeholders
By Month 6
  • Function seamlessly as an integral part of the senior team
  • Take ownership of special projects related to financial systems and process improvements
  • Participate confidently in due diligence sessions with clients and investors
By Month 12
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with business goals
  • Position for potential advancement into broader leadership roles
THE SKILL SET
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
  • Exposure to pension funds, private equity and fund accounting preferred
