Purchasing Inventory Control Manager

Title: Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager Reports to: Director of Operations Based at: Mucci International Marketing Inc., Kingsville, Ontario Revision Date: December 17, 2025 Type of Employment: Full time, permanent, extended hours depending on workload and priorities, which may include Saturdays. Job Description: As the Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager at Mucci Farms, you will be responsible for leading a talented team in sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of direct (packaging e.g. Corrugate, resin, and film) and indirect materials. This role ensures cost-effective and timely purchasing while maintaining quality standards and supplier relationships. Responsibilities Include: Lead and manage a team of Buyers, Assistants, and Inventory Clerks. Manage Direct and Indirect Spend categories which include Direct (Corrugate, Resin [Trays, Films, Bags], Labels) and Indirect materials (MRO, PPE, Services). Capital Equipment Sourcing. Work in conjunction with Packaging Development Manager, Sales & Marketing to source and develop new packaging formats. Negotiate contracts, evaluate and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids with suppliers. Validate negotiation processes and bids made by buyers and supervisors. Provide training and/or updates in good practices regarding the Purchasing department. Ensure the team is motivated and aligned with the goals determined by Senior Management. Prepare and present reports regarding market conditions and organizational spend to Senior Management. Prepare and present ROI reports for CAPEX. Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory flow, reduce waste and develop appropriate min/max levels. Ensure storage and inventory control are performed efficiently. Update Senior Management on any current or foreseeable inventory issues. Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in a management role with Purchasing and Inventory Control. PMAC Certificate and/or C.S.C.M.P. Designation preferred/considered an asset. Strong negotiation skills to effectively negotiate with suppliers. Must have strong time management skills with an emphasis on meeting deadlines. Highly energetic and assertive with strong leadership skills. Experience in leading and managing a team. Advanced MS Office skills (Excel). Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Physical Abilities: Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs. Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50 lbs. Must be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of time. Job Requirements: The incumbent will be committed to customer service excellence and leading by example.
