The Specifications Consultant will develop beneficial relationships with people who influence Division-8 specifications, then generate project leads for our specification writer or for partner-distributor specification writers’.Disciplined CRM follow up activity on leads through to delivery and revenue.Influence activities will target specification of new building projects, specification of major retrofit projects, and the wholesale channel supply of aftermarket replacement products.In-person presentations to Ontario architects, designers, end users, and generally any person with influence.Targeted vertical markets, product lines, and distributor partners are defined collaboratively.Primary ResponsibilitiesBring their own beneficial relationships and welcome new ones.Develop the relationships leveraging our specification writers, product experts, code experts, sales & marketing staff, resources (like CRM tech, showroom, presentation facility, industry events, displays, decks, literature), and partner-distributors.Learn about our products, construction stages, hardware sets, codes, D&H industry, internal processes to efficiently identify influential people who need what we offer.Collaborate with Archtectural Services Manager on which resources are needed to bring our level of influence up to a level competitive with Allegion, ASSA, Taymor, and Dorma-Kaba.Use CRM reports and activities demonstrating your contribution to our sales funnel through to delivery.Coordinate across related specification sections (such as hollow metal, sliding doors, and Division 28 electronics).Evaluate if distributor submittals and shop drawings are aligned with our revenue objectives.Collaborate with our specifications writer on technical differences.Contribute to new product development.Collaborate with project coordinators especially on Canaropa spec work as needed to clarify timelines, etc.Experience we value that supports success & independence in the roleSpecification support and consultation.Managing specification projects from inception to quote, including tracking progress, maintaining CRM data, and coordinating with local sales teams to ensure alignment and execution.Expert guidance on door and hardware solutions.Collaborate closely with sales, estimating, and technical support teams to ensure project success from design through completion.Deliver presentations, technical consultations, and product training to design professionals and facility teams.Stay current on industry standards, building codes, and emerging hardware technologies.Strong understanding of building codes, accessibility standards, and door hardware systems.Ability to provide recommendations to optimize hardware performance and design.Collaborating across related specification sections (such as hollow metal, sliding doors, and Division 28 electronics) to ensure intentional and thoughtful design.Ensure hardware recommendations meet all code, performance, and aesthetic requirements.Proven experience in architectural hardware, construction, or specification consulting.Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.Consultant or similar type of relationship existing where a candidate would be already welcome to present Canaropa products.Deep familiarity with construction project stages from influence to delivery.Experience in a trailblazing sales role.Experience with Division-8 (or similar) product lines.Experience in sales or influence for products with low differentiation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
